Future Education is an Independent Special School in Norwich for children aged 13-16 that have been excluded from mainstream education and require specialist teaching, facilities, resources and adult support.  The school provides a broad and balanced academic and vocational education for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and/or other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The school specialises in supporting students with histories of childhood trauma and exclusion from education. It combines academic learning and therapeutic care to build emotional resilience in some of Norfolk’s most vulnerable and complex children.

The School Governors are now seeking to appoint an inspirational and natural leader to the role of Headteacher to continue the journey of improvement.

The role provides a unique opportunity for a strategic decision maker with a social personality, strong experience of leadership in an education setting, and demonstrable track record of bringing about positive change and improved outcomes for students with SEND.

The role requires an individual who can be resilient to the challenges, pressures and behaviours of a specialist SEN environment and has the ability to engage and motivate staff, students and stakeholders alike in what can often be a challenging – but equally rewarding working environment.

In return, we offer exciting opportunities to influence and further develop the strategic direction of the school, a committed and caring staff team, and the opportunity to work within a growing and successful charity.

Future Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. We will ensure that our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful applicants will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check before any appointment is confirmed. Applicants with a disability who satisfy all the essential criteria specified for the post will be offered an interview. Future Education is committed to being an equal opportunities employer and service provider.
